Carleton – Preseason

Ah, the university season. Looks like it’ll be late nights and early mornings for practices, for Carleton at least. I am truly not excited for 6:30 AM practices. For a while it might let me reminisce about the good ol’ Canadian 7:00 AM hockey practices but it’ll wear off after a bit and I’ll really resent suicides before breakfast. But such is life.

From what tryout numero uno shows, the Ravens this year will be a motley crew of Phoenix, Firebird, Big Fish, high schoolers and new talent. And I’ll of course rep the Too Bad brand. If this was the team that won CUUC last year, and apparently this was the best first tryout that the organizers have seen in a while, then I think I can safely say that bageling Western is not at all out of the question.

Shoutouts to the Carleton women’s team (featuring a PPF girl whom I couldn’t put a name to), I’d love to see us both in the CUUC finals.

Frosh week here feels like an extended Gender Blender. This will be a good year, I can feel it.

Until the next, this is JJ Santos signing off.

CUC 2010: Maverick vs General Strike

After a few weeks of various mishaps here’s a cut of the Maverick (Black) vs General Strike (White) game that our editor Sean Robinson has pumped out.  The messy aspect ratio at the beginning is my doing.  We shot at a wide angle so that you could see the play develop and learn rather than enjoy tightly framed action.
