Saturday Bloody Saturday

Every season comes down to a moment or a game or a situation where everything hangs in the balance. For those of us who enjoy professional sports it may be early in the season as we see the Boston Red Sox sweep the Jays out of the pennant race in August, or it may be later on as we see a pivotal game 7 with LeBron vs Garnett. In each situation there are winners and losers.

Players Needed

This fall I’m captaining two squads that will head to Boracay for the 1st Asian Championships Beach Ultimate. It will be an intense four days of Ultimate against the best teams in Asia. You may be asking which team I’m captaining and I’ll reply (sheepishly): Currier Island. If you know the history behind the team then you know we play hard, do quite well, and are fiercely patriotic. Which is why I need you!

Continuing bid…

Since I played on Too Bad this year, a team known for not practicing, I needed some way to keep in shape throughout the year. In addition to practicing with a local Mixed team (The Company) a few times, playing league as many nights a week as I could, running track, and crossfit I also have attended a tournament every weekend for the last few months. Surprisingly the running has not taken a toll on my knees but rather has made them stronger.

CUC 2009: Open Finals

During our live broadcast the server first went down at the end of the Open game (I could feel the frustration). Here is the end of that game to all those that missed it. Mephisto in black, Phoenix in white. [flv:http://s1.iamultimate.com/cuc_2009_open_finals_end.flv 400 320] Sorry, no iPhone version this time around.

CUC 2009: Thank you!

I need to thank quite a few people for assisting with our coverage of CUC 2009. Hopefully TDs understand the need for live onsite coverage of scores as well as bloggers. First and foremost I’d like to thank Rahil who really took charge of the commentating side of things and organized while I was busy wondering why we were having server issues. On that note a big thanks to Steven Trainor for commentating and bringing on Mike.
