In a somewhat post I’d like to relate the experiences I’ve had with tryouts and the reasons why I don’t do so well at them. When people that know me, have played with me, or have seen me play hear that I’ve been cut from a team the universal reaction is surprise. Surprise because they know I can play at the higher level and perhaps also surprise that the captains could make such an error.

More than a week has now passed since OUC 2015 which has provided ample time for reflection on the results. There was drama and excitement on the weekend with a few surprises, pleasant and not, as well as plenty of reflection upon the state of Ultimate in Ontario. In particular I appreciated the comments/heckling about my picks for winners vs not; to those expressing such sentiment I have one thing to say: if you thought my picks were atrocious you should’ve seen me play.

On the 10th anniversary edition Paganello was one of many firsts: Truly international with teams from across the world including Oceania. The introduction of the mixed division. The start of No Tsu Oh’s final runs.
